JOB TITLE: CARE ASSISTANT/ KITCHEN ASSISTANT (PART ?TIME)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Centre Manager
JOB DESRIPTION
Day Centre (Senior Citizens)
The Centre provides meals, afternoon tea, transport, bingo and other
activities five days per week, Monday ?Friday.
ROLE:
CARE ASSISTANT
* To assist clients to and from buses when they arrive & leave the
centre
* To provide assistance to clients with toileting and hygiene
functions as necessary
* To assist clients in other areas that may be necessary.
* To ensure all clients are accounted for at all times
* To take part in training and attend staff supervision and team
meetings when required
* Provide assistance in other activities as necessary.
* Any other duties that may be assigned by manager.
KITCHEN DUTIES
* the preparation and cooking of meals including the setting of
tables, preparation of vegetables, meat/fish/ poultry
* To assist in the washing and drying up of cutlery and crockery
* To assist with the serving of meals and clearing tables
* To assist with the clearing up and leaving all areas clean and
tidy
* The deep cleaning of all areas of the kitchen and dining room
* To ensure all store and cold room areas are kept to a good hygiene
standard
* To adhere to all aspects of the Health & safety policy which
includes the no smoking policy
* To adhere to HACCP guidelines.
ESSENTIAL
* Be HACCP trained
* At least 3 years experience in a similar role
* Patient/Manual Handling
* Have minimum QQI level 5 in caring for the elderly
